Partnership Brings Indoor Navigation to Premier Convention Center

The Moscone Center in San Francisco has joined Pointr's Connected Venue program, bringing Blue Dot indoor navigation technology to one of the nation's largest convention centers. The partnership enables real-time wayfinding and digital mapping capabilities for attendees at events hosted at the facility.

As the venue for major conferences including Dreamforce, Microsoft Ignite, and RSAC, The Moscone Center serves hundreds of thousands of attendees annually. The facility offers more than 1.1 million square feet of space in San Francisco's city center.

Blue Dot Technology Features

The Blue Dot navigation system allows attendees to see their exact location on interactive maps of exhibit halls, meeting rooms, and public spaces. Users can navigate complex event layouts with turn-by-turn guidance spanning the entire venue campus and surrounding city blocks, while quickly locating sessions, exhibitor booths, dining options, and amenities.

The technology can be activated for individual events, giving organizers and attendees a customized navigation experience for each conference or exhibition hosted at the venue.

Industry Response

"By joining the Pointr Connected Venue program, The Moscone Center is enabling the ability for every event hosted at the venue to offer Blue Dot wayfinding as part of their attendee experience," said Scott Berkley, Customer Advocate, Events at Pointr. "Organizers now have the opportunity to activate precise, real-time navigation and deliver a more seamless, intuitive journey for their attendees."

"The Moscone Center is committed to delivering world-class experiences for our clients and attendees," said Leonie Patrick, general manager of The Moscone Center for Legends Global, which manages the venue. "Partnering with Pointr and enabling Blue Dot navigation reinforces our leadership as a venue that embraces innovation and enhances the event experience from the ground up."

Venue Analytics and Optimization

The partnership allows The Moscone Center to provide analytics capabilities alongside navigation features. Venue managers can analyze space usage, optimize layouts, and ensure smooth flow for large-scale events through the digital mapping system.

The Moscone Center is located in San Francisco's Yerba Buena Gardens area and holds LEED Platinum certification, making it one of the most sustainable convention centers in the nation.
