Copyright and Usage Rights

Messe Frankfurt GmbH has established detailed terms of use for its press materials, including photos, film recordings, audio content, and graphic files available for download. The materials, along with company names, event names, product brands and corresponding word and figurative marks, are protected by copyright and trademark laws under German and international legal provisions.

All usage and exploitation rights remain with Messe Frankfurt GmbH, though the materials may be used free of charge for reporting on events and Messe Frankfurt activities. Users must provide specimen copies of print publications and notify the company of electronic media usage, including websites and newsletters.

Attribution and Modification Rules

All photos and recordings must include the source citation "Messe Frankfurt GmbH /in case of photos: Name of photographer". Modifications are limited to format adjustments only, with no other changes permitted without prior written consent from Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

Commercial usage requires written approval, with inquiries directed to press@messefrankfurt.com. Worldwide distribution across print and electronic media is permitted for two specific groups: registered exhibitors at relevant Messe Frankfurt events promoting their trade fair presence, and media conducting editorial reporting on events or Messe Frankfurt.

Logo Usage Guidelines

Logos must be displayed in the best possible quality and comparable prominence to other depicted logos. They should appear on white backgrounds, with the white version reserved for exceptional cases where backgrounds don't permit standard usage.

Strict prohibitions apply to logo modifications, including changes to content or colour, additions, skewing, compression, rotation, cutting, distortion, retouching or other alterations. Proportional enlargement or reduction is permitted, but specific spacing requirements must be maintained.

Spacing and Content Restrictions

Company logos require free space equivalent to two large squares on all sides, with the reference size being the large square of the figurative mark. Event and service logos need one h-height clearance on all sides.

Content restrictions prohibit integration of materials in media containing illegal content or material violating public morality, including violent or sexual content, and discriminatory, insulting or libellous statements regarding race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.

Downloaded graphics files cannot be forwarded to third parties, though this restriction doesn't apply to internal staff, freelance workers, or service providers required for communication creation. Messe Frankfurt reserves the right to revoke consent for logo usage in cases of Terms of Use violations.
