Partnership Delivers Specialized Training
AGF (A Greener Future) has partnered with Edinburgh University to deliver a two-day sustainable event training course in Scotland on April 22-23. The programme is designed to train assessors capable of conducting environmental assessments for events and festivals worldwide.
Comprehensive Skills Development
The in-person training course equips participants with skills and knowledge in environmental operations and sustainability at events. Those who successfully complete the programme become qualified to undertake environmental assessments for various events and venues on behalf of AGF, which developed the world's first green standards and certification for festivals and events.
Students will learn key operational issues of events that create environmental and social impact, alongside communication and behaviour change legislation and self-regulation principles. The curriculum covers current UK and EU legislation, with reference to USA legislation, regulations, key environmental impacts and solutions, the circular economy and greening the supply chain.

Course Structure and Progression
The intensive programme includes short presentations, discussion topics, activities and case studies over the two-day period. Successful completion may lead to an invitation to Stage 2 of AGF training. Events, festivals and venues rely on AGF to provide trained assessors who can evaluate their activities and offer recommendations for making events more environmentally sustainable.
